Telehealth Visits in Flower Mound, TX

Telehealth visits offer a convenient way to meet with a pulmonologist from the comfort of your home. This guide explains exactly how to prepare for your appointment, what devices you can use, and how to connect smoothly on the day of your visit.

Accessing Care From Home

How Virtual Appointments Work

Telehealth at Apex Pulmonary Lung Associates uses the Healow platform to help patients access care remotely. An appointment link will be sent to the email you provided, and you’ll use that link to join your session at the scheduled time.

You will receive an appointment email from “Your Provider.” If you don’t see it in your inbox, check your Spam or Junk Mail. You won’t need to open or use this email until the day of your visit.

Device and Browser Requirements

Different devices require specific browsers to ensure the video connection works properly. Review the guidelines below to prevent any connection issues.

Using a Computer

Telehealth visits must be opened through Google Chrome when using a desktop or laptop. If the link does not automatically open, copy and paste it directly into the Chrome browser.

Using an Apple Phone or iPad

Patients using an iPhone or iPad must be running iOS 13 or higher. All Apple devices must use the Safari browser to join the appointment.

Using an Android Device

Android users must use Google Chrome or Firefox to access their virtual appointment.

What to Do on the Day of Your Appointment

Appointment Day Checklist

A smooth check-in process makes your virtual visit feel seamless, so it’s important to follow these steps before logging in.

Please wait to join the telehealth link until after you have checked in with the front desk and medical assistant. If you accidentally join early, make sure to still answer your phone when the office calls.

You will receive a phone call to collect your copay or coinsurance, if applicable. After that, you’ll either be transferred to a medical assistant immediately or receive a call back shortly to complete the check-in process. The medical assistant will ask a few brief questions before the provider joins.

Joining Your Telehealth Session

Once check-in is complete, open the appointment email and click Join Meeting. Your device may ask you to accept microphone and camera access—choose Allow so your provider can see and hear you during the visit.

During Your Virtual Visit

After joining, you’ll enter a virtual waiting room until the provider connects. Once the session begins, your pulmonologist will appear on screen and the appointment will proceed just like an in-office visit.
